The first book up on my Summer reading list is Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (wait, don’t leave).  I’ve got to say I’m honestly kind of loving it.  It’s my first official purchase on my brand new Kindle and I can’t say I regret it.  Wish I could tell you I am reading something more intellectual or profound but alas, I am not.  There pretty much isn’t a more easily indulgent read than this book.  But I think it’s just what I need.  There’s a certain magic in it’s simple humaness.  The way the author manages to articulate just what you’ve been feeling but perhaps haven’t recognized is uncanny.  (Of course, I’m mainly talking to my fellow mid-20’s women that have reached a similar hellish limbo in their lives.  Happy and adjusted women, please stop reading here.)  Beautiful writing plus utterly soul-crushing frankness makes for a great book.

It made me want to share an excellent talk on nurturing creativity that Ms. Gilbert gave at the TED conference this past February.  I don’t want to go into details and spoil it for you so just go ahead and watch the video - it’s short(ish).
